My queue ran out yesterday at around 5, which might be related to me not having been on Tumblr for any real length of time for something like five days.
I shall be rebuilding my queue, but this is a phase I do go though occasionally, where the time needed to go through my dash isn’t something I’m willing to spend. I’ll still be posting steadily - just less. And if you want to reach me, it’s much better to do so through email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks for sticking around, guys!
Hello everyone! I’m sorry for the recent rash of looong textposts - there were a lot of messages in my inbox that I’d let rot through a combination of things, and it was time to get them answered as properly as I could.
Now that my inbox is clear (mostly - new message from a bb anon, which I shall answer tomorrow), I can begin preparing to Do A Thing. Keep an eye out.
(hint: the Thing might have something to do with prints and sketch/drawing commissions. oh ho ho.)
Hey Tumblr so I’m back from the IMC and I will answer uh all of the messages that have been rotting in my inbox for like two months in the next couple of days now that I’m no longer depressed/without internet/moving/at the illustration masterclass ahaha
but in the meantime have some IMC thinky thoughts
My queue has been set pretty high so you guys might not have noticed, but I haven’t actually been around for about threeish days! I am moving at the end of the week and my internet has been shut off, and the wifi I have been ‘borrowing’ is not reliable.
I feel super bad because I have a bunch of unanswered messages, some from SVA anons, but between the internet issues and the fact that I am juggling the upcoming IMC piece and the Rolemodels painting (which, I am realizing, I am going to have to book it on in order to have a photographable painting by the deadline), I’m not really going to be around much for a while.
I’ll get those messages answered ASAP - tonight, if I finish everything else - and I’ll keep my queue going. If you need me for something, please email me at email@example.com.
In the meantime, here are my final IMC thumbs!
Hey guys sorry if you sent me a message or wanted me to see a thing but I have been snowed under and exhausted and I don’t really understand why when I look at my day-to-day but I do know that art is hard right now and I am just very, very tired and Tumblr is a bottomless pit and I will be functional again soon, probably.
Anonymous asked: Oh that's great to hear! Are you able to choose the location when traveling? And how do you get onto the honors program? And i'm great! Adding onto my portfolio. I'm really excited about it, so many ideas. How are you and have you been able to work at a place you wanted to?
Oh my god I just found this in the depths of my inbox. I am so so sorry.
To, uh, answer your questions: the Honors senior year Spring Break trip destination is chosen and planned by the program; you get into Honors by writing a short essay in response to “Why art?” and having a high enough high school GPA, I think.
I am glad you were great in October, Anon. I hope you are still great now.
In late October I was in hardcore freakout mode because Illuxcon was coming up and I had an actual table at the Showcase, for which I was pretty largely unprepared, and several other things were intersecting with that time period to make me all of the crazy. Now, in March, I’m doing pretty well… good things are happening, and if I can ever get my butt in gear to do a proper round of promotion emails to art directors, I might ever get a professional commission.
In the meantime, Starbucks doesn’t treat me too badly, and in a month the class I’m going to be teaching will start.
