Sargent I love you your the best yay~~

I learned that:

1. his skin tones are more orange than red

2.shadows are  a desaturated red-orange, maybe desaturated yellow, not true green or purple

3. the sky is whiter than it looks

4. but it’s NOT WHITE THAT WHITE ISN’T WHITE CHECK AGAIN

5. if you can’[t tell what color it is, it’s probably a red-gray.

I’m sensing a trend in my work where I’m darkening the heads.  I call it ‘blackout mode’.  It’s cool looking, but a bad story telling technique/short hand.
Ink and pencil.

My cover of Moebius’s Starwatcher piece seen here. I had a lot of fun doing this. I really tried hard to find a place where my line could be both controlled and precise, and loose and free. It’s hard to explain, but I’ve been really interested in the tension between two lines and how they work together.I don’t really like the lettering on the right hand side but it was fun to experiment .
